Our story

Pauwela Beverage Co was founded in January 2020 by husband and wife team, Cady and Kyle. From humble beginnings at one farmers market with two flavors of kombucha, we have grown to 5 product lines, distribution across Maui and Oahu and a thriving taproom on Maui.

We believe probiotics can be approachable and delicious. Gone are the days of the sour stuff you force yourself to drink. We are the beverage you want to drink, that also happens to be good for you!

Our diverse catalog of products means there’s something for everyone. From a Pineapple Creamsicle Hard Kombucha to our zero sugar Lychee Cola, you can satisfy every taste bud and stand behind a product you know is doing good for the island it is proudly crafted on.

A Good Food Awards finalist and winner three years running, Maui Time’s “Best Kombucha,” a Hulo Awards winner for craft alcohol in Hawaii and a dedicated team have all set us apart as the best there is. We work very hard to make these products truly exceptional, we can’t wait for you to try them.

From farm to bottle

We work closely with local farmers across Maui to infuse our products with a true taste of the islands. Ginger, turmeric, lilikoi, lychee, dragon fruit, hibiscus, mango, guava, lemon, lime, orange… the options are limitless. We feel so lucky to live in a place that offers us so much.

Our expert brewing techniques give us an edge in the probiotic beverage scene. We are constantly innovating our processes, making the best possible products we can.

Kyle Fleming

FOUNDER
Co-founder of Pauwela Beverage and master brewer. Kyle comes from an extensive background in craft beer, giving him an expert edge to the world of brewing fermented beverages. When not in the brewery, catch him surfing at Ho’okipa, the local north shore break.

Cady Cox

FOUNDER
Co-founder of Pauwela Beverage, head brewer and marketing director. Making sure our products look and taste amazing is her thing, and interacting with the community through our products is her favorite part of the job. When not at the brewery, find her dancing with local company, Adaptations Dance Theater.

Matthew Blanco

SALES
Matthew is our head of sales. Ask Matt how he’s doing and he’ll always say “another day in paradise!” He is so passionate about our products, and sharing them with everyone. A background in rock climbing and coco tree climbing gives him a fearless approach to sales. Trust us, he’ll win you over every time.

Jayla Blanco

MANAGER
Jayla is our bookkeeper and account manager. There’s so much that goes on behind the scenes of Pauwela Beverage, and we thank our stars every day that Jayla is there to handle it all. Jayla is also a speech pathologist and momma of two!

Andrew Heilprin

DISTRIBUTION
Andrew is head of distribution and merchandising. He’s the one you’ll see at all of our accounts, stocking the shelves, replacing kegs on tap, making sure our product is always available to you. He is also a brewery assistant. Andrew is a passionate surfer and wing foiler, look for him at Kanaha bay and say, “Aloha Drew! Thanks for delivering my favorite booch all over Maui every week!”
Lamar Robinson

OAHU DISTRIBUTION AND ACCOUNT MANAGER
Lamar is our head of distribution and accounts on the beautiful island of Oahu. Wihout him, none of our Maui-made products would make it to the shelves of our Oahu accounts! Lamar is the nicest guy you’ll meet, eager to share our products with everyone and truly embodying the “aloha spirit.”
